The Qindred Qoalition® is a soulful, nonreligious activism choir founded in 2024 with a bold mission: “Creating harmony to conquer hate.” Rooted in the rich traditions of gospel-style choral singing and guided by a commitment to social change, the organization affirms the dignity, humanity, and cultural nuance of all people.
Founded by Nik Pettye—known artistically as nYk p—The Qindred Qoalition began as an extension of his doctoral research project and a deeply personal vision. nYk p set out to create the musical community he always needed: a space that outwardly affirms the life, culture, and brilliance of the Black queer community while warmly inviting allies to join in collective action. The result is a dynamic choir that blends soul music, advocacy, and community-building into a powerful vehicle for connection and change.
Based in Atlanta, The Qindred Qoalition shares uplifting digital content and performs at community-centered events that foster interpersonal connection, open-mindedness, civic engagement, and social transformation. Through passionate, gospel-inspired performances and an ethos of radical affirmation, the choir seeks to inspire audiences to celebrate queerness, allyship, cultural diversity, and love for all people.
With its first concert and debut single set to launch this spring, The Qindred Qoalition is poised for growth. As membership expands, the organization hopes to travel nationally and internationally—using harmony as both art and activism to inspire the world toward deeper understanding, soulful expression, and collective liberation.
